Okay, I mentioned this at Book Club tonight, but realized it was NOT linked to my blog like I thought, so I'll post it here, for other frugal Milwaukee Moms.
Every weekday at 9am BuyCostumes.com has five costume deals that cost less than five dollars. They have a couple of other deals on the same page, but those $5 deals are usually pretty cool. I just don't usually catch them because I don't remember to check until after 10am and those deals go FAST! Since I have yet to catch a deal both at the right time and something I need/want, I don't know what shipping is, but it still sounds like a pretty good deal, nonetheless.

Refashioned t-shirt
Another gem from Sutton Grace blog. Check this out. She took one of her old shirts and turned it into a darling shirt for her daughter. A.dorable! And, she has more refashioned pieces in other posts. AND she's LDS (I saw a post about an enrichment activity)

Flu Shot Reminder
I've been meaning to write a short post about getting your flu shot, and was reminded when a friend did so on her blog. For those of you who are moms, the CDC is recommending that all children ages 6 months - 18 years get a H1N1 vaccine. Also, pregnant women are considered high-risk if they contract H1N1, so the CDC also recommends vaccination. I know that not all people are pro-vaccine, but if you are planning to have yourself or your children vaccinated for H1N1, now is the time to get your "regular" seasonal flu shot. Both my pediatrician and my OB told me that you need to have the "regular" shot (or mist) at least 20 days before H1N1. My pediatrician said that the stock of H1N1 vaccines that is being given to their office will be partially based on how many seasonal flu shots were given; and that by getting my kids their regular vaccine, we should not have to worry about the availability of the swine flu vaccine, as we will be given priority. Anyway, it's my understanding that H1N1 will be available late October to early November...so, there's my rant for the day...hope no one is offended...
Free nursing covers (plus $8.95 shipping)
Even though this is an online thing, I'm posting it anyway! (Because maybe someone else can't sew these things, either, or would spend $9 on material, etc. and not like the way it turned out. Or maybe you just don't have the time.) They actually do sell them in Mequon at a little boutique store.Even if you're not interested, just check out the modeling moms. Is that how I'm supposed to look when I nurse? Or maybe how I COULD look if I just had one of those covers. Sign me up! :)
I don't know how long the code will last. You pay $8.95 shipping and handling.

Friday Night Out???
Jake is going to Chicago tomorrow night for school. I'm thinking of going out for pizza or something with the kids, just to keep us all busy. I will probably head out early, so we can get home earlier and get them to bed so I can read or something relaxing...anyone interested? (I don't expect anyone to leave their hubbies to hang with me, I just don't know if anyone else is a "widow" tomorrow night)
